These painting are mainly water colour, with elements of artists chalk and sometimes coloured tissue paper.

After studying art through all years in High School very few pictures were created as family came first and my recreation time was filled with soccer, cricket, triathlon and long distance running.

I had many ideas floating around my “right-brain” and occasionally sketched them. These sketches invariably ended up in a drawer somewhere.

Having discovered these hidden sketches I painted for hours, such was the joy I experienced. Hopefully this joy comes through to the viewer.

My love of biology is automatically expressed, unintentionally, in the works. It just turned out that way. My abstract view of plants, animals and microbes is apparent.

I use calming colours that are placed in balanced composition. The shapes are also placed in balanced composition.

My imagination was let loose and then reigned in a bit to create these pictures.

There can be too much analysis and dissection when looking at an artwork. The only thing that matters is if, when setting your eyes on a picture, do you like it or not!

Hopefully people will like what they see when looking at my paintings.
